Polls in Greenwood will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. tomorrow for the Democratic primary. The ballot includes multiple candidates for mayor as well as the races in Wards 5, 6, and 7.

A Grenada man who teaches and coaches at Bruce High School is accused of inappropriate contact with a student. The Clarion-Ledger reports that Loray Jordan Junior was charged on April 21st with touching an eighth-grade girl inappropriately. In addition, another Bruce teacher, Heather Nix, the Bruce principal, Michael Gillespie and Calhoun County Superintendent Mike Moore are charged with failure to report the incident.
Greenwood police are looking for two suspects in an armed robbery and shooting. It happened Monday afternoon at the Gaston Apartments near Avenue H and Elm Street. The victim said he was looking for men to help with a work detail when he was shot and his wallet with about 300 dollars in it was taken. He drove himself to the hospital, where he was treated and released.
A man wanted in connection with a murder in Memphis has been arrested in Grenada. According to the Grenada Star, police say 47-year-old Brenard Gladney was taken into custody Wednesday evening following a traffic stop on Interstate 55 at Papermill Road. Grenada police checked with a national database and found out that Gladney was a wanted man.
The New York Giants are making an Ole Miss player a rich man. The Giants took former Rebels tight end Evan Engram with the 23rd overall selection in the first round of the NFL Draft last night in Philadelphia. The six-foot-three, 234-pound tight end was the only Mississippi player taken in the first round.

A songwriter from Duck Hill will be honored at the town’s huge gospel festival this weekend. Duck Hill’s first-ever Gospel and Heritage Festival takes place Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. Organizers say the event will recognize the life and legacy of Louise Campbell.
Police in Oxford have arrested a man for allegedly photographing his girlfriend naked without her permission. The woman says 21-year-old Jonathon Fox secretly took the photos, which she found on his computer. Authorities arrested Fox after securing and executing a search warrant, during which they seized his laptop and cellphone.
The fourth edition of the Greenwood Air Show is coming up next month and will include something new. The Greenwood Commonwealth reports that this year’s show will feature the U.S. Army’s Golden Knights. Organizers say that 18 members of the military parachuting team will be giving a skydiving demonstration. The Greenwood Air Show happens June 3rd.
A Memphis company is recalling about eight-thousand pounds of meat for listeria concerns. The Fineberg Packing Company items were distributed in Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi. Included in the recall are Fineberg’s Finest Danish Brand BBQ Flavored Ham and Holly Brand Hickory Smoked Fully Cooked Ham.
